Gervonta "Tank" Davis has been stripped of his WBA lightweight title after failing to make weight for his scheduled bout against Ryan Garcia on June 15, 2024.

The news was first reported by ESPN's Mike Coppinger, who noted that Davis weighed in at 137.5 pounds, a half-pound over the 136-pound limit for the lightweight division.

In accordance with WBA rules, Davis will no longer be eligible to challenge for the lightweight title and the bout against Garcia has been canceled.
